PC fair.. no Vista??

This round of PC fair is very dissapointing.. i thought this round will be Vista-PC fair but it doesn't.. and this time also see a lot of booth didn't show up.. (our nice friend from Bluedot didn't show up also..) what is really goin' on?? isn't Christmas just around the corner?? ooh.. it is because lately sales of IT product is really sluggish.. you can see Dell have to sell it's lcd monitor in PC fair for the first time..

Microsoft Windows Vista Vs. Apple Mac OS X Leopard

This is it.. The battle between Windows Vista and Mac OS X Leopard.. when i get my hands-on Windows Vista Beta 2 a few months ago.. Even though it had a lot of improvement than Windows XP.. but i feel that Microsoft are trying hard to follow Mac OS X (the most advanced operating system in the world).. There are too much thing that will make you feel like : "what a minute.. isn't this from Mac OS?"

A. Stability : Windows Server 2003 vs. Unix
Microsoft are trying to developed a new kernel for Windows Vista but failed..instead.. they modify the Windows Server 2003 kernel and make it for Windows Vista.. Windows Vista is a lot more stable than Windows XP (of course this OS eat RAM like monster just to make it stable.. it is recommended that you have 1GB of RAM for Windows Vista..) but i can still feel that it still cannot compete with Mac OS X stability that based on Unix.. There is nothing special about Windows Server 2003 it just about the application compatibility.. it still cannot handle mission critical application that Unix good at..

B. Graphics : Direct X vs. OpenGL
After a lot of version of Direct X.. a lot of generation of 3D Graphic Card.. Microsoft only starting to use the power of it on Windows Vista.. with glass-like Windows Aero interface... but Mac OS X already did this with Quartz Extreme and Core Graphic a long time ago that use the power of OpenGL.. a 3D graphic driver that used to create realistic 3D games such as Quake, Doom etc..

C. Search : Windows Search vs. Spotlight
One of the main features of Windows Vista is the built-in search features that allow you to search for documents, images easily..



























but.. Mac OS X already had this features on Spotlight a few year ago..



























D. Calendar : Windows Calendar vs. iCal
Not all people want to use your Microsoft Outlook one.. not all people very rich to pay another hundred just to use the calendar function on the Microsoft Outlook.. finally Microsoft realise this and offer Calendar function on Windows Vista.. but you have a long way to go.. Apple already have this with iCal a few year ago..



































E. Widgets : Microsoft Gadget vs. Dashboard
Wah.. Windows Vista got cool widgets wor.. Mac OS X already have it already lor.. Mac OS already got thousands of widgets available for download.. another copycat from Microsoft..



























F. Networking : ipv6 nightmare
One thing good about Windows XP is the easy to configure networking compared to Mac OS X..
but right now Microsoft come out with Network Center and also add-in ipv6 connectivity (because Mac OS X Tiger already got ipv6 maa..) in Windows Vista will bring nightmare to Network Administrator to configure the networking for Windows Vista just like what they have with Mac OS X.. Is not that Windows Vista Network Center is not good.. Is that if you have incompatible router with Windows Vista or you have a very special network topology in your office (just like my one of it's kind rojak network topology in my office) then you will have nightmare configure it.. imagine that: you click print but nothing come out.. you cannot access the share file on server.. you are connected to the network but not connected to the internet.. how to solve? imagine this: you need to reboot the router.. you need to restart the PC.. bla bla bla.. time to get used to it.. or you hold the Windows Vista upgrade lor..

G. Conclusion : Vista or not to Vista
Want to Vista or not to Vista? it really up to you.. some people scared to upgrade to Vista because they afraid their PC is not suitable for Vista and afraid will crash their PC..
If you bought new PC this year it means that it is Windows Vista ready.. if it is doesn't than doesn't upgrade it.. i bet you will switch back to Windows XP (since your PC don't have enough horsepower to make use of all the features that Windows Vista have).. get a new PC with Windows Vista or get a Mac instead (haha)..
(Headache.. i need to handle Windows Vista PCs next year.. because next year all the new PC will running on Windows Vista..)

Windows Vista Sneak Preview

I feel so lucky and very excited to be here.. thanks Microsoft Malaysia for bringing me here.. this is what they so-called the event of the decade.. the Windows Vista + Microsoft Office 2007 + Exchange Server 2007 Sneak Preview in Kuala Lumpur Convention Center.. All the top IT staff from Malaysia top companies are attending this wonderful event.. and Microsoft Malaysia are inviting some guai lo to give some keynote and us some cool demo or sneak preview on the new version of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.. i still remember when Windows XP launch a few years a go and it create quite a buzz in the IT world.. and i can't wait what will happen when Microsoft launch the new version of Microsoft Windows - Windows Vista (which has been delayed a lot of time already..) by end of this year..

celebrating 25 year of PCs..

walauyeh.. right now i only know that PC were born in 1981.. that time i even haven't born yet leh.. and we are celebrating 25 year old of PC!! that is what i have been told by intel processor guys when i attending the Windows Vista sneak preview (see more details above..)

oh boy.. look at those hello kitty.. so cute.. huh?? guy crazy for Hello Kitty.. ohh.. he is not straight guy (in chinese called ah pon).. it's kinda different with going out with other guys.. we hanging out at KLCC and it's feeling like i am going out with a girl.. (aiyoh like that meh.. cannot date with girl.. date with guy then..) we go boutique.. sourvenir shop.. and then buy some groceries.. too bad he is not she.. hai.. so bad.. it's been a long time i didn't have a date with a girl liao lor..

[g-review] Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII

After the successful Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children movie on DVD and PSP, Square-Enix have release another spin-off from Final Fantasy VII which is Dirge of Cerberus for PS2. Unlike Final Fantasy VII, the main hero in this game is the mysterious gunmen Vincent Valentine. It is really a brilliant idea to have a 'Devil May Cry' type game using character from Final Fantasy. Somemore it have function similar to Final Fantasy game which is upgrade weapons, level-up, potion / phoenix down and even got limit break! this game will give you a warm-up before waiting for the much anticipated english version of Final Fantasy XII release on October 31.

8tv Summer in Concert

a lot of people complain... they want to call my hp to wish me "happy birthday" but line cannot go through.. why leh?? hehe.. sori.. i go Danga Bay Johor to watch 8tv Summer in Concert lor.. so many people there of course line jam laa.. wah.. so many popular artist.. got Energy.. got Zhang Dong Liang.. got JJ Lin.. got Yang Cheng Ling.. got Jang Nara.. free somemore.. this is the best free concert i ever attended.. and the best birthday celebration ever -> celebrate with so many artist...

Superman Returns...

I hve just watch the Superman Returns in cinemas and i just want to tell you that the film is very very nice...(as good as Spiderman movie...) you should go to cinema and watch it... don't watch the pirated vcd version.. you will miss out a lot.. the visual and sound effect from the movie is awesome...
It is the best Superman movie yet... I'm so glad that Bryan Singer (director of X-Men and X-Men 2) direct this movie... he really done a very good job bringing Superman return back to the silver screen...

After watching his breakthrough performance on MTV Asia Awards 2006.. S..E..V..E..N is my next favorite artist.. his previous two album Just Listen... and Must Listen... pack with chartopping hits like I Just Wanna Be..., Luz Control, Passion and Come (which all is my favorite songs on my iTunes playlist). When i found out he had release a new album "27/7", i straight away get my hands on it... and i what can i say.. it is very nice to listen.. even though i don't i understand the lyrics... The debut single from this album is I Understand (feat. Teddy from 1TYM).. and other song that worth mention is Love Story and The One... so Mr. Rain... please watch out.. becos Se7en is here!!!

DaVinci Code

DaVinci.. One of this year most anticipated movie is finally here and i manage to watch it last two weeks.. At first when i watch the trailer i thought the movie is about uncovering the mystery of Leonardo Davinci's Painting.. But when i watch the movie then found out the movie is about the... yeah.. as seen / hear on it advertisement : "Witness the biggest cover-up in human history"... it's suprising that on the Leonardo Davinci Painting lies a mystery of Christianity.. and Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) about the crack the code.. the DaVinci Code... so is the Leonardo Davinci painting really has secret as told on the movie? Maybe yes.. Maybe no.. but anyway it is quite interesting movie to watch...

Mission Impossible...

Yeah.. last week i saw a movie - MI:III. It is directed by director / creator of Alias and Lost (forgot his name..). It is quite different from the previous movie MI:2 directed by John Woo.. It got it's own style.. and I like it and enjoyed the movie very much.. The action scene was awesome and the gadget they use is very cool.. better than previous MI movies... highly recommended..

Penang Photos

Actually i want to share about my experience during my holidays in Penang but when i writing it halfway my pc suddenly hang and i don't want to rewrite it again so i just share my photos only lor... I have "good eat", "good play" but "bad sleep" there (i bed is so uncomfortable and air-cond got problem one..)

PC Fair!

Yeah! PC Fair is back again.. hmmm... what is my comment about PC Fair 2006? aiyah... almost the same one with the previous PC Fair.. nothin' special... i was hoping i can see some new IT stuffs displayed on this PC Fair and i was dissapointed.. and it's packed with a lot of people ..ballroom oso got a lot of people :-( want to jalan oso susah.. You can view some interesting comment about PC Fair 2006 here (http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?s=c890ac417be64bc330b6ce7bafd4111d&showtopic=255603) The good things about is i found out 1 mp3 player that looks exactly like iPod Nano (my dream mp3 player). At first I feel strange.. how come iPod Nano is displayed at non-Apple booth.. when I look closer then I found out it is the iPod clone hehe.. without thinking much I straight away buy it... actually i was thinking of buying iPod shuffle becos the Nano is expensive.. but when I can get Nano (clone one lah..) cheaper than shuffle there no need to think twice...
I remember last time i used to like to hook the headphone to hifi and listen to music (very loud).. until it affect my hearing.. i don't really thnking of buying portable mp3s player.. but right now when I see a lot of people get their hand on it.. even right now you can use your handphone as mp3 player.. my hands getting itchy start having one of it...

恶作剧。。

三月二十一日 ，想把这个blog弄的更加有趣所以就这个星期的网络日记用华文来写，对不起我的华文不是很好所以不要嘲笑hehe。。
今天我的同屋介紹我看一片他组的偶像连续剧《恶作剧之吻》，huh...以为我很得空meh...叫我看连续剧。。你自己看啦。。可是看了几分钟后觉得这套影漫有趣的。。又好笑又浪漫。。然后我就跟我的同屋说：“我要借回家来看！”“不要还先！”hehe..他就跟我说：“不用怕！我下个星期去买下来。”huh... 需要吗？借吧了不是可以了吗？我可以把整套录在我的电脑然后慢慢看。。着是不是恶作剧。。
到底这个影是关于到什么了？hehe...不可以讲。。自己去看啦。。看这套片突然会想起我中学念书的时候。。 //^_^\\

LeeHom concert

March 19 2006, today I go to Lee Hom Promo Tour Concert with my little bro.. got free tickets.. quite excited because this is the first time I watch him performed live.. before the concert, it is a little bit rain but luckily when he performed that time it stop raining.. He performed 4 song from his latest album 盖世英雄... even though it is short but I enjoying every moment of it... after that he have an autograph session with the fans... autograph only.. cannot shake hand, take pictures...
